Halifax Heritage Festival – Lister Lane Cemetery – Open day with guided tours

Guided Heritage Tours highlighting little-known stories of amazing Halifax people from the 19th and early 20th Centuries.
Come along and learn about the hidden gems in a Victorian Cemetery! Finely carved monuments, and unmarked graves, hold many local citizens with stories to tell. Hear about the men who conducted the great Piece Hall Sings – the woman who sang in front of Queen Victoria – the suicidal doctor, the murdered printer and the successful photographer. And then there were MPs, Councillors soldiers, Chartists, mill-owners, shopkeepers – not forgetting the Workhouse Keeper and the first Bronte family printer. And what about those founders of Halifax’s famous Building Societies?
David Glover and Stuart Wilkinson will lead tours of absorbing interest lasting up to 90 minutes each
