As part of the Heritage Festival we welcome His Majesty’s 33rd Regiment of Foot.
This group represents the 8th company of the 33rd Foot, from their return in 1812 to the final peace in 1816.
They portray a standard line company, typical of the redcoats of the time and the backbone of the British Army. Emphasis is placed on the life of the ordinary infantry private during times of peace and war. The group will set up camp on the Minster’s top lawn, demonstrate drill displays and period craftwork.
Afternoon Teas, served by the ‘Friends of Halifax Minster’ will be served on Saturday and Sunday afternoons – booking preferred via the website.
