Discover how we’re boosting tourism and creating jobs in Calderdale by reading the Calderdale Visitor Economy Strategy

To ensure that the borough’s growing tourism offer continues to go from strength to strength, Calderdale’s Visitor Economy Strategy sets out the priorities and actions for the tourism sector over next five years. Developing strong and lasting partnerships, supporting businesses and growing the sector, are key drivers for the delivery of our strategy. The primary aim of the strategy is to generate more and longer trips to Calderdale, benefitting the local economy and leading to increased jobs and to ensure we remain competitive, compelling and attractive, whilst preserving the cultural and environmental integrity of our communities.

In delivering this strategy we will continue to develop the appeal and image of our places for a range of audiences, enhance the quality of life for the residents of Calderdale through sustainable and inclusive growth and develop a more circular visitor economy with improved supply chains. We will cultivate strong partnerships and through a collaborative approach, which has sustainability at its core, we will seek to reduce inequalities and create an inclusive, vibrant and greener future, leaving a lasting legacy for future generations.
