Image by James Bland, our Week Five VisitCalderdale Christmas 2023 Photo Competition Winner

Calling all photographers! Whatever your experience and whether you take snaps on your mobile phone or you have a full DSLR set up and a variety of zoom lenses – we’d like you to share your Christmas and Festive photos with us at VisitCalderdale!

We’re running a VisitCalderdale Christmas photo competition for five weeks from Monday 13^th November to Sunday 17^th December 2023. The winning photos will receive international exposure by being showcased on the VisitCalderdale.com website and VisitCalderdale’s Facebook, X and Instagram channels.

There are also prizes up for grabs including shopping vouchers and tickets to local attractions and events. Judges will select a winning photograph each week and winners will be chosen and notified weekly, so you have five chances to be a winner.

Rules

By entering the Competition You accept these Competition Rules and the Terms and Conditions.

1    The Competition is free to enter.

1.1 The Open Competition is open to all members of the public.

1.2 Entries must be submitted by 11.59:59pm (GMT) on Sundays 19^th , 26^th November and 3^rd, 10^th & 17^th December.

2   To enter, you must email your image(s) to tourism@calderdale.gov.uk. There is a maximum of three images per person per week. Please also submit a contact phone number in case you are a winner and we have any difficulty reaching you by email. No record will be kept of any of these phone numbers after the competition has ended and all winners have been successfully contacted.

2.1 Images must have been taken in 2022 or 2023.

2.2 Images should be no smaller than 800KB and no larger than 5MB. Images should be either JPEG or PNG files.

3     The winner will be notified in writing by email, or by telephone if there are any difficulties with email.

3.1  The decision of the Judges is final and no negotiation will be entered into with respect to the decision.

3.2  There are no cash alternatives available for prize winners.

4     By entering photograph(s) into the competition, you acknowledge that the photograph has been taken either by yourself or that you have the photographer’s permission to enter the image into the competition.

4.1  You confirm that each person depicted in the Image has granted permission to be portrayed as shown. Any costumes, props or other materials used must be rented or borrowed with the permission of the owner, and all other relevant permissions must have been obtained.

5   NB: VisitCalderdale may wish to use the photograph(s) you submit for this competition in our future marketing for Calderdale. By entering photographs into this competition, you are giving us permission to use them in our future marketing. Where we do use any competition entries in future marketing, we will recognise you as the author of the image by giving you a photo credit in each instance of its use To opt out from this, please state “I do not give permission for my photos to be used in future VisitCalderdale marketing.” in your email competition entry.
