Have you discovered Mixenden’s new interactive Wild Walk? Ideal for kids and their grown-ups!
The trail is 1km and you will follow 12 wooden posts around the circular route through the woodlands. Each post has a QR code which you can scan to listen to voices bring wildlife to life. Look out for the scampering squirrels. Listen out for the drumming of the green woodpecker or if you go for an evening stroll, the ‘twit-twoo’ of the tawny owl.
The start point for the Wild Walk is the entrance to Seed Hill Woods on Mill Lane, opposite Bake N Butties, 16 Mill Lane, Mixenden, Halifax HX2 8SE.
You can also pre download the audio trails in advance whilst in a Wi-Fi zone or pick up one of the activity sheets at Mixenden library or Mixenden Activity Centre.
