About The Rex Cinema
The Rex Cinema is one of the oldest purpose built cinemas in the UK, recently refitted with new seats throughout.
We show family films every Saturday and Sunday afternoon and on most weekdays during school holidays.
Matinees for adults are on Wednesday afternoons, September to April.
Thursday morning screenings take place throughout the year (includes tea and biscuits).
Organ concerts on our Rodgers 333 Olympic theatre organ are held on the third Sunday of every month with a different visiting organist each time – price £5.50 for everyone.
There is ample free parking nearby and disabled access. We also have a traditional organist and recitals.
The Rex has also been fitted with Pullman seats throughout and Dolby stereo surround sound.
Family Matinees & Senior Screenings:
Family matinees on Saturday and Sunday afternoons and daily during school holidays.
Senior Screenings every Thursday morning at 10.30am. The organist plays from 10.00 am.
Cinema For Hire:
Cinema for hire is available for parties (children’s or adults’), conference, etc at very competitive rates – Apply to Manager.
