Square Chapel Arts Centre brings you the best in film, theatre, live music, comedy, family shows, workshops and more!

Located centrally, opposite Halifax Railway Station and ten minutes from the bus station, Square Chapel is next door to The Piece Hall.

Our café and bar is the heart of Square Chapel, a place where experiences can be shared and embraced. From 12th November 2021 the opening times are as follows:

Bar & Cafe (Beer/Coffee)
Monday – Tuesday: 4pm-11pm
Wednesday – Saturday: 12pm-11pm
Sunday – 12pm-9pm

Kitchen: Food
Wednesday – Sunday: 5:30pm – 9pm, Lst order 8.30pm.

Access: Our building access provisions include:

  • Drop off point on Blackledge*
  • Seating spaces for wheelchair users in our auditoriums
  • Accessible toilets
  • A changing places room (please ask a member of staff for more information and access to this facility)
  • Improved level access into the main entrance of the building
  • Lifts inside the building
  • Loop hearing systems in place in our auditoriums (ask at Box Office for more information)
  • Concessions are available for patrons with disabilities.

*Drop off point: We have a drop off point at the bottom of Blackledge (the cobbled lane leading up to Square Chapel.
