Situated close to Brighouse town centre, the park is easy to reach and has free car parking for visitors. Why not take a stroll around the park, sit and relax in the surroundings, enjoy a picnic, or explore the natural woodlands and follow the path of Clifton Beck that runs through the heart of Wellholme? The newly opened cafe offers a place to relax and chat with family and friends over a drink and snack. If you prefer something more energetic, then perhaps enjoy a game of tennis on one of the four courts, or a game of bowls on one of the two crown greens or the flat bowling green. An exciting playground with scramble net, climbing frame, swings and a roundabout gives hours of enjoyment to our younger visitors. A demanding skateboard park is a test for those who like a spot of boarding and for those who prefer something less strenuous then there is a putting green and crazy golf.

Three escape rooms: one challenge. Your mission is simple; to escape from one of our locked rooms in less than 60 minutes. You will be challenged, physically and mentally. You will need to work as a team if you want to escape. You’ll also need resolve, determination and a good dose of common sense with you if you want to breakout in time. Find the clues, solve the puzzles and beat the clock to breakout.

A fully immersive live indoor game, Project Breakout at Rokt in Brighouse, offers three purpose built breakout rooms to provide you with a state-of-the-art escape room experience.

Designed for small groups of between 2 and 5 players, each room offers its own unique, compelling challenge.

    The Rooms

    The Antidote

You have been selected to take part in an experiment. Details as to the nature of the experiment cannot be revealed until the day of arrival. All we ask is that live subjects enrol. Not for the faint hearted. This is a test of skill, cunning and bravery. Not everyone will complete the challenge, but those who do will be rewarded with the ultimate prize! More details will be provided in your briefing should you choose to take the challenge. Do you have what it takes to beat the experiment?

    Project ‘Z’

You are in the midst of a Zombie Apocalypse. By chance you’ve found yourself locked in an underground bunker owned by a secret Government organisation, but the scientist in charge of the keys ventured outside some time ago to assess the situation and never returned. The hordes of Zombies have begun to descend on the room, and your food and water supplies are exhausted. Suddenly your 2 way radio crackles into life. A rescue chopper has discovered your whereabouts and is on its way to rescue you, but they will only have one attempt to land before the Zombies overwhelm them. Estimated time of arrival is in 60 minutes. Can you find a way out of the room before the chopper is forced to leave, or worse, find yourself overcome by the undead army waiting outside?

    The Hostage

Whilst carrying out a mission behind enemy lines you and your team of Secret Agents have been captured. A ransom has been sent to your government, but just as you expected they have denied all knowledge of your existence. Your captors are on their way back to your cell and who knows what horrible things they now have in store for you? Has your luck finally run out, or can you escape to freedom before they return?

Imagine a market day in Halifax. Two thieves are being led from the gaol and in turn, forced to lie with their heads between two upright posts. Above, a fearsome blade is glinting in the sunlight. A horse, yoked to a rope, wrenches out the security pin and the blade slices down..! The date was 30th April 1650 and Halifax Gibbet had claimed its last victim. The Halifax gibbet was an early guillotine. The Lord of the Manor possessed the authority to execute summarily by decapitation any thief who was caught with stolen goods to the value of 13½d or more, or who confessed to having stolen goods of at least that value. Decapitation was a fairly common method of execution in England, but Halifax was unusual in that it employed a guillotine-like machine that appears to have been unique in the country, and it continued to decapitate petty criminals until the mid-17th century. A 15 foot high replica of the Gibbet has been constructed on the original site at the bottom of Gibbet Street. To find the Gibbet; from Halifax town centre, take Pellon Lane, turning left onto Bedford Street North. The Gibbet is at the end of the street, to your left, on the junction with Gibbet Street. The Gibbet’s original blade has been preserved and is on display at Bankfield Museum, Halifax.
