“One to watch out for…” (Elaine Paige) “A stunning success... astounding” (Yorkshire Post) The ‘must see’ musical. The astonishing true story of Nicholas Saunderson who sought to make the impossible possible. No eyes. No braille. No hope. It is 1682. He is humiliated and rejected at every turn. Can an emerging genius with numbers confound those who seek to repress him? Set against the contrasting earthiness of Yorkshire and the dreaming spires of Cambridge, No Horizon is a tale of courage, aspiration, love and overcoming adversity. Featuring emotive, stunning music, this epic story tells of Saunderson’s dogged determination to fulfil his dream. It is as moving as it is inspiring. No Horizon seeks to establish Saunderson in his rightful place as a national icon. TICKET PRICES: £20 ADULT, £18 CONCESSION, £15 PARTIALLY RESTRICTED GROUPS: BUY 11, GET 12TH TICKET FREE. Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th September 2020

(NB these dates are provisional at the moment but the Festival take place on the first weekend in September)

The Sowerby Bridge Rushbearing Festival brings you a packed weekend of Rush-related tradition and tomfoolery!

The Rushbearing Festival is the only one of its kind in Yorkshire. Over the course of the weekend, the festival sees the progress of the Rushbearing procession around seven towns and villages, visiting many churches and local hostelries along the way. the focal point of the procession is the sixteen feet high, two-wheeled handsomely decorated and thatched rushcart.

A team of young ladies take turns to ride on top of the cart as it is pulled by sixty local men dressed in Panama hats, white shirts, black trousers and clogs. Accompanying them are a group of supporters in Edwardian dress along with some of the region's finest musicians and Morris dancing teams to provide entertainment for the crowds.

By the nature of this event timings over the weekend may vary slightly!

For full route details for the Rushcart and approximate timings, please visit the Rushbearing website

7pm Join us as we welcome The Brighouse & Rastrick Band to the Victoria Theatre Halifax. The Brighouse & Rastrick Band is regarded by many as the best and most consistent ‘public subscription band’ in the world. In its time the majority of premier band championships have been held by ‘Briggus’, most recently becoming National Champion Band of Great Britain in 2017, whilst the band has also attracted a formidable reputation for highly entertaining concerts for both the general public and brass band connoisseur. The band was formed over 130 years ago through public donations given by the townsfolk of the adjacent villages of Brighouse and Rastrick that face each other across the River Calder in West Yorkshire. Today, it still continues to be supported through public subscriptions and its own fundraising efforts. Tickets from £15.75
