    A carefully-restored retreat with original features with views of rolling hills and the Hardcastle Crags valley. A few years ago this Grade II listed barn was nothing but a romantic ruin. Now, after a careful restoration, it’s been converted into a two-bedroom rural retreat that oozes rustic charm. Inside you’ll find intriguing original features from its agricultural past. Timber cow stalls form the kitchen area and original high stone walls are met by the timber frame ceiling. There’s a cosy sitting room complete with wooden floors and a log-burner and a spacious galleried bedroom upstairs. Upon arriving at Widdop Gate Barn you’ll be greeted with sweeping views of rolling hills and the wooded valley of Hardcastle Crags. From here 15 miles of footpaths unfold through unspoilt woodland, where waterfalls tumble into rocky steams. The market town of Hebden Bridge is only two miles away and the city of Halifax is 10 miles to the east. You’re also about an hours’ drive from the Yorkshire Dales which is to the north.     Situated in the centre of the vibrant town of Hebden Bridge (overlooking Packhorse Bridge), a newly refurbished apartment is available for your stay. The apartment is accessed through a private door and staircase leading up to the first floor. Here you’ll find the living room, master bedroom, kitchen and main bathroom. A lovely hallway and staircase takes you to the mezzanine bedroom, twin bedroom (with adjoining balcony) and second bathroom. We are dog friendly, however we do ask they are kept out of the bedroom areas. You also have access to a private yard at the rear of the apartment to wash muddy boots and muddy paws before entering the apartment after your daily adventures! The apartment is situated on a pedestrian only street however loading/unloading is permitted before 10am and after 4pm

    Hebden Bridge Camping is nestled in the quiet, picturesque village of Colden, above Hebden Bridge along The Pennine Way. A safe and peaceful area with many nature walks and stunning views . Conveniently placed adjacent to The New Delight Inn, a traditional country pub providing refreshment, local guest ales and dining. The camp site is located in a peaceful and idyllic area away from the chas of modern life. We are able to offer 14 tent pitches of varying sizes to accommodate larger as well as smaller groups. Campervans are welcome on site with 5 electric hook ups available for those that wish to use them. Children and pets are welcome on site and we provide toilet and shower facilities for all guests. Please ensure you keep clean after use for following guests. Free parking is available for guests with a restriction of two cars per party. We operate a strict noise restriction from 10pm onwards each evening. This is to respect local residents as well as children staying on site. Guests can check in any time around 12pm on first day of arrival but can checkout at any time. Children and pets must be under close supervision at all times. Hebden Bridge Camping will not be held responsible for any incidents incurred during visits.     This luxury loft apartment, contained within a superbly converted 19th c mill stable, is an absolute delight. Situated in stunning Pennine valley near Hebden Bridge. Extremely well designed and equipped, sleeps 4 in comfort. Oats Royd Loft Apartment is part of a majestic Yorkshire stone barn that was once the stabling for Oats Royd Mill. It is fresh, light, airy, modern, stimulating and ingenious. There are some extraordinary touches: Japanese-style screens around the raised double bed, metal and perspex stairs leading to a cosy twin roof room, a highly efficient Scandinavian woodburner - high tech meets history in this wonderful transformation! Artists and designers, Hilly and Dan Fletcher have put heart and soul into the restoration of this fine building and have made it into an absolute treasure! The apartment sleeps 4 in comfort and there is a sofa bed or folding bed available for an extra guest. Hilly is a serious cook, so the kitchen is very well equipped with gas cooker/oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster etc and anything else you may need can be borrowed.The dining table seats six, but if you don't want to cook, with a bit of advance notice delicious meals are normally available from Hilly. Packed lunches can also be arranged. The apartment has most modern conveniences, including WiFi, TV/DVD, CD/radio, iron and board, hairdryer etc. Outside is a lovely stoneflagged dining patio and sundeck (shared with owners and wildlife) which overlooks the old mill pond, where you can put your feet up, read a book or bring your fishing rod and catch your supper! We can come to local bus/train stations to collect you on your arrival, please ring us to make arrangements. Local buses stop right outside the mill next door. There is a wealth of good entertainment and dining in the area. It's worth checking out what's on in Halifax and Hebden Bridge before you arrive - theatres and music venues in Leeds and Manchester are also easily accessible for an evening out. There is a large Mill Pond in the garden which is full of fish, which guests are welcome to use. A laundry room is available to guests.     Hello!! We (and the Alpacas) are based in the Southern Pennines in the picturesque Calder Valley outside the small market town of Hebden Bridge. We are a 15 minute bus ride from town. We first became interested in Alpacas in 2012 and have then since travelled South Wales to build our small award winning heard. Our boys are suited to the South Pennines given there native roots in South America and they love the long Summer days up in the hills just outside the lovely village of Blackshaw Head which is a mere 5 minutes away by car and bus from Heben Bridge. Come along and go for a walk with one of the guys, both you and they will love walking round our land in the country and you will experience the serenity and peacefulness of these beautiful Alpacas, and oh.. did I forget, the scenery ‘ain’t alf’ bad either!

    Hardcastle Crags encompasses deep rocky ravines, tumbling streams, oak, beech and pine woods and some of the best examples of upland meadows in the country. Gibson Mill is situated within Hardcastle Crags woodland beside Hebden Water. The National Trust have put in some superb waymarked walking routes suitable for all abilities. Cross the river on stepping stones and spot birds, insects, amphibians and if you're lucky; deer! You'll find Hardcastle Crags offers a completely different experience throughout the year - from the icicles of midwinter to the carpet of bluebells in the spring. The early 19th century Gibson Mill is situated within the site. A tour of the mill tells the history of the valley and the mill over the past 200 years. The mill also has changing exhibitions throughout the year. Gibson Mill is 100% self-sufficient in energy, water and waste treatment. It has a hydro-electric system, solar photovoltaic panels and a log-burning stove fuelled by wood from the estate. You can also rest and recharge at the Weaving Shed Café, serving delicious ethical and locally-produced food and buy the perfect gift or memento in the shop located there. Built in around 1800,Gibson Mill was one of the first mills of the Industrial Revolution. The mill was driven by a water wheel and produced cotton cloth up until 1890. In the early 1900s, Gibson Mill began to be used as an ‘entertainment emporium’ for the local people. After the Second World War, the mill slipped into disuse, and was acquired by the National Trust in 1950. Hardcastle Crags is open all year round from dawn until dusk, admission to Hardcastle Crags and Gibson Mill are FREE. Dogs are welcome (including in the café and mill) if kept under close control. GETTING THERE You have three options to get to Hardcastle Crags: By car - there is parking at Midgehole (for Sat Nav use HX7 7AA) and Clough Hole (for Sat Nav use HX7 7AZ). A parking fee applies at both car parks, although parking is free for National Trust members By bus – the 906 runs from Hebden Bridge on weekends between May and October. It will take you to both the bottom and the top of the valley. Walking – there is a route from Hebden Bridge on good paths with a bit of road walking. It will take you about 45 minutes.
