The Cottage is reputed to be the oldest in the village, dating from the 16th Century. The cottage sleeps 3 adults (1 kingsize, 1 single) and there is also a fold up cot for infants. Gas central heating. Fully fitted kitchen with gas stove. Free parking within 50 yards of the cottage. A regular bus service runs between Heptonstall and Hebden Bridge. The old village dungeon or "lock up" situated on the lower ground floor, may be used for the storage of bicycles. -

The cottage retains some of its original features, inside you will find a luxurious open-plan living room with exposed beams and underfloor heating and flagstone floors The sitting room boasts a charming woodburner set within the inglenook, and mullioned windows are filled with green landscape scenery from outside. The kitchen is contemporary in style with spotlight illuminating the good quality fixtures. Climb the plush carpeted staircase to the modern bathroom at the top and indulge in a nice hot soak in the roll top bath. The well-presented bedrooms offer zip and link beds to suit your preferred choice of sleeping arrangements. Off-road parking is available at the front of the house, and a lovely enclosed garden at the side. Sit outside with views across to the moors while you sip a lovely glass of wine on a sunny afternoon, or relax in the hot tub after a long day of exploring the local area. -

The cottage overlooks the River Ryburn and has its own fishing rights. Nearby is the 'oldest pub' in Yorkshire and also St Bartholomews Church. The 50-mile waalking route The Calderdale Way passes right by us, and there are other excellent walks to be enjoyed from the village, as well as many cycle routes. After a day's activity why not sample some of the numerous pubs and restaurants in the area. We are a short driving distance from many key tourist attractions including Hebden Bridge, The Bronte Country, (home place of the Bronte Sisters), Last of the Summer Wine Country, Esholt (the birthplace of Emmerdale Farm) and, for those of you who enjoy shopping and exciting nightlife, Leeds and Manchester are only a 20 minute drive away. Why not make a special occasion of your stay with us and order wine, champagne, chocolates or flowers to be provided in your room upon arrival or even reserve a table for a bar meal in the 'oldest pub' in Yorkshire 'The Bridge Inn' dating back to the 1300's.
