This mash-up of a pub/venue/Thai restaurant/community hub serves locally-sourced food with a global twist, real ales, craft beers, and quality wines. The Lion is open for breakfast, later offering home made pie and peas at lunchtime, and global food at night. Roasts are available on Sundays, with quality bands and DJs performing at the weekends. The Golden Lion has space for meetings, community groups, workshops, weddings, anything! The 50 mile walking route The Calderdale Way passes by less than 100 metres from The Golden Lion, so if you're walking the route, call in for a rest and some superb food and drink!

    Our traditional but quirky 200-year-old pub and grill with five super guest rooms has the most wonderful surroundings of the great outdoors, pretty market towns and historic attractions – right on our doorstep. We host a selection of hand-pulled real ales alongside an extensive drinks menu. We have five brand new double-size bedrooms, all with stylish en-suite bathrooms and furnished to a very high standard. Each room has a comfortable feel to ensure a restful stay at our stunning Ripponden pub. The 50-mile walking route The Calderdale Way passes through Ripponden, less than a hundred metres from The Lion.

    Robin Hood cottage is a small 18th century farmer’s cottage with mullion windows, beams and a cosy real fire. It provides the perfect place for a relaxing break in the picturesque countryside of West Yorkshire. Close to the Pennine Way footpath and stunning moorland scenery, the cottage is a great place for walkers, cyclists or wildlife enthusiasts. It is a short drive from Hebden Bridge, ‘Bronte Country’ and the area where ‘Last Of The Summer Wine' is filmed. It is also a good centre from which to visit the Yorkshire Dales and North Yorkshire Moors. Available all year round - for three-day winter warmers or week-long holiday lets. All duvets, bed linen and towels are provided. The cottage is centrally heated by the solid fuel burning stove. Wood and coal are included in the price. Roadside parking is close at hand. Sorry, the cottage is non-smoking and does not allow pets.

The property comprises two sitting rooms, a kitchen, dining and living area, five double/twin bedrooms and a four piece bathroom suite with walk in shower. The Mary Towneley Loop is a 47 mile section of the Pennine Bridleway with a variety of tracks, looping past Blackshaw Head, Heptonstall, Hebden Bridge Todmorden, Walsden where you will encounter open moorland and hidden reservoirs, ancient packhorse tracks sweeping into valleys with gritstone walls, mill chimneys and canals offering a both a glimpse of past histories.
