    Lindores is situated on Todmorden's main street within easy walking distance of the town centre. This Victorian house is just five minutes’ drive from countryside perfect for walking or cycling. All seven guest rooms at Lindores feature free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV with DVD player, an alarm clock/radio and tea/coffee making facilities. At the meeting point of three steep valleys, guests at the Lindores have an ideal base for walking, mountain biking, horse riding and bird watching.     A lovingly converted holiday cottage in the hamlet of Blackshaw Head near Hebden Bridge, close to walking routes The Calderdale Way and The Pennine Way and with a private hot-tub. Packhorse Stables boasts outstanding views across the unspoilt Colden Valley, yet is only a 30 minute woodland walk to the historic market town of Hebden Bridge which offers an eclectic selection of amenities. The front stable-door opens into a large open plan living/dining area. The living area comprises one sofa (can be converted to a bed), comfy chair, wood burning stove, underfloor heating, wall-mounted flat screen TV with free-view and DVD player. The Dining area has a wooden table, bookcase with a wide range of books and tourist information, stereo CD and ipod docking station. Local craftsmen have been used to supply the furnishings and fittings where possible and most is available to buy in Hebden Bridge. Fully- fitted kitchen including dishwasher, washer/drier, microwave, large fridge/freezer, slow cooker, extensive cookware and crockery. Two large windows, one offering beautiful views of the garden and the second overlooking the front patio. Wet-room to the rear of the property with heated towel rail, luxury walk in shower and underfloor heating. Large centrally heated bedroom with fitted carpet, quality wooden furniture, super-kingsize bed and several windows with far reaching views of the valley and gardens. Moving to the outside of the cottage there is a south-facing patio at the front with table and chairs, ideal for al-fresco dining. To the rear there is another large patio which has the hot-tub – perfect for gazing at the stars at night or taking in the sights of the valley during the day. Wood-store and BBQ where bikes can also be kept under cover. Large garden with pond and additional seating area, which can be illuminated at night. Wild pheasants love to be fed here and we have two resident Little owls and woodpeckers. Parking for 2 cars on a private drive, access to both front and back doors can be reached avoiding steps. Bedlinen, towels, gas, electricity and starter pack for woodburner all included in the price. Birchview has panoramic views down to the river, to the mill-workers cottages and wooded hills beyond that fringe the start of Hardcastle Crags valley. In addition to the two delightful bedrooms, guests can enjoy breakfast in a spacious, light, timber floored dining room that overlooks the valley, and boasts woodpeckers, nuthatches and long-tailed tits as regular visitors to the feeder and bird table directly outside the windows. Nestle in your own little patch of harmony in this quaint two-bedroom Victorian cottage, encompassed by its own garden. You’ll be at the pillared entrance to the Hardcastle Crags estate with its wooded valley unfolding before you. From here you’ll have a network of walking trails that pass tumbling waterfalls, rocky streams and otherworldly rock formations that rise from the dense woodlands. There’s also a former mill at its heart which is now a visitor centre. And if you have dogs, there’s no need to leave them behind as The Lodge can cater for two pups. I’m sure they’ll love a snuggle by the log-burner after a long day of walking. The superb50 mile walking route The Calderdale Way, which circles the borough, runs closely past the Lodge. From here, the market town of Hebden Bridge is only two miles away and the city of Halifax is just 10 miles to the east.
