Nestle in your own little patch of harmony in this quaint two-bedroom Victorian cottage, encompassed by its own garden. You’ll be at the pillared entrance to the Hardcastle Crags estate with its wooded valley unfolding before you. From here you’ll have a network of walking trails that pass tumbling waterfalls, rocky streams and otherworldly rock formations that rise from the dense woodlands. There’s also a former mill at its heart which is now a visitor centre. And if you have dogs, there’s no need to leave them behind as The Lodge can cater for two pups. I’m sure they’ll love a snuggle by the log-burner after a long day of walking. The superb50 mile walking route The Calderdale Way, which circles the borough, runs closely past the Lodge. From here, the market town of Hebden Bridge is only two miles away and the city of Halifax is just 10 miles to the east. You’re also about an hours’ drive from the Yorkshire Dales which is to the north. We are pet friendly - 2 dogs are welcome to stay at The Lodge. We have an Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Point: 1 x 7kW 32A Type 2 Mennekes, ZeroNet.

Apple Tree Farm offers the option of a one bed or a two bed barn conversion available for 7, 4 or , 3 night lets. Both accommodations are bright and airy with all the modern facility you would expect at home. The two bed sleeps 4, with both bedrooms having ensuite facilities. An open plan lounge and kitchen, creates a great social setting in each let for your holiday. The one bed has the added extra of a wood burner to warm up cold winter nights.

It is a brand new conversion completed to the highest standards with a fully fitted kitchen and bathroom. Bicycle storage is available in an adjoining outhouse and there is free parking on site - a rarity in the centre of the village. For the non-drivers, a regular bus service runs between Heptonstall and Hebden Bridge train station. The barn has been sensitively converted in keeping with the Grade II listed status using original Yorkshire stone and has a lovely log burning stove and stone hearth. The owners will be on-hand in the adjoining house. Heptonstall is a beautiful hill top village situated in the heart of Calderdale, West Yorkshire, some 500 feet above the popular and bustling town of Hebden Bridge. The village has 2 pubs, a cafe, a village post office, a small museum and a social and bowling club. The surrounding countryside is breathtaking; ideal for walking and cycling, including the nearby National Trust owned Hardcastle Crags. There are literary links to both the Bronte family in nearby Haworth and to the late poet laureate, Ted Hughes and his wife Sylvia Plath, who is buried in the village church yard - as featured in the hit TV series Happy Valley. The unique and popular town of Hebden Bridge is just a short walk down the hill, offering dozens of independent shops, galleries, restaurants and cafes.

The apartment is accessed through a private door and staircase leading up to the first floor. Here you’ll find the living room, master bedroom, kitchen and main bathroom. A lovely hallway and staircase takes you to the mezzanine bedroom, twin bedroom (with adjoining balcony) and second bathroom. We are dog friendly, however we do ask they are kept out of the bedroom areas. You also have access to a private yard at the rear of the apartment to wash muddy boots and muddy paws before entering the apartment after your daily adventures! The apartment is situated on a pedestrian only street however loading/unloading is permitted before 10am and after 4pm

    Trains run from Blackpool North to York via Hebden Bridge and Halifax and from Leeds via Bradford to Manchester Victoria via all stations.

    It is also possible to travel to Leeds via Dewsbury from Mytholmroyd and Sowerby Bridge.

    A direct service operated by Grand Central runs from London to Halifax and Brighouse three times a day.
