Blazing Saddles is Calderdale’s local bike shop, with a workshop in Hebden Bridge and a showroom at Cragg Vale, both open seven days a week. Our well-equipped workshop is manned by Cytech-qualified mechanics and is the place where great things happen. New bikes are brought into the world, feeble bikes made strong once more and miracles worked with all sorts of previously unfixable disasters! At Blazing Saddles our main objective is to help you find the right bike for your needs. We’re all keen riders in one discipline or more and with many years of experience under our belts of riding the wrong bikes as well as the right ones, we know how important it is that you get a bike which suits you and your riding. We’ve chosen to stock the brands that we do because we feel they offer you the best possible choice, whether you’re a road rider, commuter or mountain biker (or even a mix of all three!)

Exploring this Ryburn village and some of the nearby 'rural fringe' midway between Sowerby Bridge and Ripponden. Fine buildings and a Palladian mansion...and that's not all! See how the coming of the turnpike transformed this small settlement into what it is today. One longish steep climb and descent. A 2½ hour walk. Guide: Anne Kirker The normal charge is £4 for all ages unless shown otherwise. We need to restrict numbers in the groups both for your safety and that of our guides. For that reason all walks have to be pre-booked. We will use TicketSource https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/calderdale-heritage-walks which appears to be an easy site to use and, if we have to cancel a walk, will provide an automatic refund. The cost of most walks will be £4 inclusive of booking fee but a few are £5 because of extra expenses. The site will open for bookings on Friday 21st May. Groups will be between 16 and 22. Many of our walks start at 2pm and the details of where to meet, including a post code, will be on your ticket.
