    The award-winning International Village Market will be returning to Halifax again with traders from around the globe set up along Corn Market, Russel Street & Southgate from 25th to 28th April and 31st October to 3rd November 2019. Just some of the tasty treats which will be drawing in visitors include Greek delicacy including Gyros, Souvlaki, and Greek pies, a Traditional German Schwenkgrill selling Bratwurst and Currywurst, mouth-watering French crepes and Galettes, Catalan cuisine Tapas and Paella; Pofitjes, the famous Dutch mini pancakes and even Ostrich and Kangaroo burgers so hop along and try some of the great street foods on offer. Wander amongst the wonderful aromas, sights and sounds of a true International Market. As well as International street food there will be some great fresh foods on sale including olives, baklava, dried fruit and nuts. If you're after something sweet, the French Patisserie is a must, offering the finest pastries that are perfect as a treat - after all the burgers, sausages, pancakes, ice cream and freshly baked Macaroons…. But it’s not all about food as we have some great craft and gift stalls including some fantastic jewellery made from recycled silver cutlery; South American jewellery and knitwear, handmade amber, crystal and gemstone jewellery and of course the famous Dutch Market Garden where you can wander through a huge collection of shrubs, bulbs, beautiful plants and trees with some great garden ornaments. And if it all gets too much and you want to take a break sit and relax in our very own Continental Street Bar where you can try some great continental beers and wine.

Where did her earliest girlfriend live in the town? You'll discover the answers on this new walk, view Christopher Rawson's home and the fine structure which housed his family bank. The walk will last approx 2 .5 hours. This walk MUST be pre-booked and tickets cost £4 per person. Bookings can be made at Halifax Visitor Centre in the Piece Hall, Halifax.     Free ‘Taster Tours’ are available for individuals and couples on the first Sunday of the month (except January). Meet at 2pm opposite the Town Hall pediment on Halifax Road, OL14 5AQ Todmorden Town Hall straddles the Walsden Water and was situated in both Lancashire and Yorkshire until the county boundary was moved on January 1st 1888. Designed by John Gibson of Westminster, this Grade 1 listed building holds a strong place in the hearts of local people. Most iconic, from the outside, is the pediment. The carved stonework has two central female figures on a pedestal. The one on the left represents Lancashire (cotton spinning industry) and the one on the right Yorkshire (engineering and agriculture). Below the two figures are different friezes of the industries coming together to prosper on the border. Inside the building there is an old Magistrate’s Court which now serves as the Todmorden Town Council Chamber. The ballroom upstairs spans the length of the building and holds many memories for those who have attended the variety of events held in the Town Hall for over 140 years.
