The Piece Hall hosts a Yorkshire Day celebration with a fun-filled programme of family activities, dancing and live music from home-grown regional artists.

The celebratory event also marks The Piece Hall’s fourth anniversary since the venue’s reopening in 2017.

At 10.30am, visitors will be able to hear the Town Crier’s Yorkshire Day Proclamation, set to kickstart the day in true Yorkshire style. Visitors will then have the opportunity to take part in a hat-throwing competition – a traditional contest that began almost a decade ago on the edge of Ilkley Moor – courtesy of the Yorkshire Hat Throwing Society.

Throughout the day, visitors will be treated to live music on the bandstand from home-grown regional artists including Clifton & Lightcliffe Band; Flat Cap Brass; Hind & The Jaffa Cakes; and the Great Yorkshire Chorus, before getting the chance to take to the floor with social dancing in the courtyard.

Pop-up food stalls will also be available throughout the day for refreshments.

7.30pm Celebrating 40 years since their debut on the West End stage in ‘Beatlemania’, the world’s Premier Beatles band continues to draw critical acclaim with their flawless recreation of the greatest songbook of all time. Tracing the Fab Four’s journey through the swinging 60s, every tiny detail is forensically observed from their authentic period costumes and instruments, to their witty stage banter and “inflection perfect” vocals. With a little help from their own orchestral ensemble, and featuring a special set to mark the 50th anniversary of Abbey Road, this show is an absolute must for Beatlemaniacs of all ages. Tickets from £34.25
