    By kind permission of the owners, this afternoon walk goes to, around and inside the striking ‘Brass Castle’ built above Todmorden by John Fielden in 1869. It includes the house, walled garden and stable block with details of their history and the family. Timing and meeting point details are issued with the tickets. The Guide is Anne Mealia. PRE-BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL and it will not be possible to just turn up on the day. This walk is £4 per head. Booking opens on Monday 17 June. Pre-booking via Halifax Visitor Information Centre in The Piece Hall. You can book in person, by phone on 01422 368725 (fee for card transactions & a P&P fee), or by post to: Halifax Visitor Information Centre, The Piece hall, Halifax, HX1 1RE with full payment and a reply paid envelope (cheques to 'Calderdale MBC'). Please specify the day and a.m. or p.m. preference. Details and directions are sent out with the tickets. This walk is 1½ miles, part on woodland paths and strong shoes are advised. Ticket-holders should meet the Guide in Todmorden at 2.15pm (full details supplied with tickets) for a ½ mile walk up the wooded hillside to the Castle – strong shoes advised. Access to the Castle by car is difficult but if you need to go by car, route information will be supplied when booking. Those arriving by car should meet the Guide at the Castle door at 2.45 pm.

    ROKT still have some availability for the kids climbing sessions over summer so why not come along and have some fun? Children’s climbing sessions include a 2 hour fully instructed session and are suitable for ages 5+. Kids have the chance to try rope climbing, bouldering, caving and games. Sessions are available from 10.30am until 12.30pm and 2pm-4pm from Monday to Friday throughout the holidays. Visit our website to book your session.
