The Piece Hall is delighted to announce the inaugural Father Christmas Comes to The Piece Hall, a specially created Christmas experience in partnership with Sneaky Experience.
Join us for this never seen before show as you are welcomed on a magical journey of storytelling and festive imagination. Follow The Tellers who will lead you on an enchanting interactive tour around the spectacular site to meet Father Christmas himself.
The Tellers are a funny sort of folk. They’ve lived under the arches of The Piece Hall for generations – collecting and telling stories of the townsfolk that come and go. They fumble and bumble and ring tiny little bells to let you know that a tale is being told. This Christmas, the Tellers are on a mission to bring the magic of storytelling back to Christmas with the help of their very jolly friend - and huge fan of stories – Father Christmas himself, and of course some extra special guests – that’s you!
Bring yourselves, your imaginations and your Teller’s Bells and join us on an amazing adventure. There’ll be jokes and rhymes, laughs and games as you follow these funny folks around The Piece Hall, Piece-ing together a brand-new Christmas story.
Your ticket allows you to enjoy a site wide 35 minute interactive experience where you’ll meet Father Christmas and your children will receive a Santa Activity Bag, after which the family can discover the festive pack in the courtyard spaces or take away to do in your own time.
Audiences are limited in numbers to 24 per group to ensure the event will be run with strict social distancing to keep you, your family, and of course Father Christmas and The Tellers, as safe as possible.

One hundred and thirty-five years ago audiences heard Swan Lake by the great Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky for the very first time. From that moment on, the world of ballet would never be the same. Swan Lake is a tale of two young women, Odette and Odile, who resemble each other so strikingly that one can easily be mistaken for the other. It is the compelling legend of a tragic romance in which a princess, Odette, is turned into a swan by an evil curse. Prince Siegfried chances upon a flock of swans while out hunting. When one of the swans turns into a beautiful young woman he is instantly captivated – will his love prove strong enough to break the evil spell that she is under? From the opulent splendour of the palace ballroom to the moonlit lake where majestic swans glide in perfect formation, this compelling tale of tragic romance has it all. Swan Lake captures, like no other ballet, the full range of human emotions – from hope to despair, from terror to tenderness, from melancholy to ecstasy. A wonderful evening out, the memories of which you will cherish long after the final curtain falls. Ticket holders are invited to join us in the auditorium from 6:45pm for a pre-show Swan Lake talk. Tickets from £38.75
