Fairy Cottage

The Fairies have worked their magic in creating a luxurious romantic and relaxing setting for made two. The Cottage has been re-designed within the old 1850 stone barn attached to our farm house, incorporating as much character as possible. Stone window sills and surrounds, oak beams and open roof features give the cottage a magical feel. White Company Egyptian cotton bedding, soft touch dressing gowns, silk/Egyptian cotton towels and aromatic soaps gives added comfort to all our guests.

On your arrival the fairies will greet you and show you around the farm. The welcome pack will be laid out around the kitchen and fridge; you will be able to find, tea, coffee, infusion teas, breakfast cereals, bread, milk, butter, beans, crisps, biscuits, soft drinks and more!

Special extras: For £35 you can pre-book the following: – Sparkling Tea for two.
A bottle of Prosecco on ice, which we can have ready for you on arrival. Afternoon tea for two includes fresh sandwiches of your choice and homemade cakes. Please advise us on your estimated time of arrival and we can have everything ready for you. Price £30 with no Prosecco or Bucks Fizz.

In the farm house we have a beauty massage cave where, for an extra charge, you can have relaxing aromatherapy massage or other beauty/hair treatments. There is a price list in the cottage. You can pre-book or book on arrival.

If you want the use of the hot tub (freshly filled and for your private use only), there is a fee of £50. Please remember to give advanced notification.

The valley has lovely loop walks with varying terrain and stunning views. We can give you a guided tour if you require!
Fairy Cottage has a quaint front garden with a toadstool stone table and matching seats. There is also a larger, beautiful stone dining table outside the back door of the cottage, under a pergola, which has lovely romantic lighting for the evening and far reaching stunning views to enjoy.

The farm has quite a few gardens, two acres of well kept fields you are welcome to explore.

The hot tub garden is situated on the edge of the field and is very private with lovely views across the valley. Please note this tub is freshly filled before you arrive and is for your sole use throughout your stay.

There is a tree swing in the field with a bench built into the stone wall along side it. It’s a lovely spot to take drinks out to whilst soaking up the beautiful scenery. Or you can have a bit of fun on our downhill bowling green!

Please note, the Cottage is immaculately clean, with light coloured floor tiles/carpets and soft furnishings. We therefore ask all visitors to kindly remove their shoes immediately on entering and place them on the doormat provided. Please leave outer clothing on the coat hooks behind the front door. With Covid safety in mind – please wash your hands on entering or use the hand gel provided. Disposable slippers will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own.

We have an outside loo and sink, hiking boots/wellingtons can be left there to dry overnight.

We ask all guests to respect the property as this is part of our home. If any damages or spillages occur we would like you to report this to us as soon as possible, so as we can clean or sort out the problem before it’s too late to rectify.

We have a private utility room, if you need any washing, tumble drying or ironing done please ask. We also have a separate washing machine for dirty outer hiking clothing and again please feel free to ask. A nominal fee will be charged for these services.
The cottage rooms consist of kitchen diner, bedroom, dressing room bathroom and a shared staircase (plus a little private guest staircase leading to Fairy Cottage bedroom).

WiFi, USB and Media TV sockets are located on both levels.

The kitchen will be provided with tea, coffee, sugar, milk, fresh orange juice, breakfast cereals, sweeteners, bread, cheeses, crackers, butter, biscuits and a bowl of fresh fruit to help get you started on your holiday.

Please note, the staircase is shared with the farm house, we will avoid using this as much as possible to give you more privacy. The walls are soundproofed and the windows have airport quality double glazing. Solid fire doors are fitted throughout.

There is ample free parking with outside CCTV for security.

M62 Motorway junction 24 from Leeds or Manchester is only 1.5 miles away. There are local bus stops which go into Huddersfield and Halifax, both have coach and train stations.

Holiday with your horse at Fairy Cottage
We can now offer guests the opportunity of staying here with their horses.
• The stable is 50 feet long x 18 feet wide
• Fitted with rubber matting on the floor and walls
• Automatic water feeder
• Hay racks at each end
• Easy divider to separate into two stables
• Hot and cold taps (hose/shower head to wash them down with)
• Sand and rubber small arena (horses can come and go to from the stable if the door is left open at that end)
• Two acres of well maintained beautiful grazing land divided into two fields (horses can easily come and go from the stable to the field if the door at far end is left open)
• Secure modern barn to keep tack, rugs and feed in
• CCTV in the stable and around the property for your peace of mind
• Ample free parking for horse box
• The stable and barn is alarmed
• The barn has a kitchen, shower room and separate toilet (all new and modern)

The whole of the above mentioned is for our guests sole use during their stay. Prices from £40 per night depending on how many horses can be discussed prior to arrival.
