Mayroyd Mill House is a peaceful creative space. It’s run by Rachel and Juliet, and you’ll be sharing space with Juliet’s ceramics studio in the basement and see her pottery and prints in the house.

The house is intended to be a peaceful, comfortable get away for groups, friends and family, and provide an inspirational space, or retreat for writers, crafts people, artists and academics.

It’s a great spot for outdoors people looking for an active holiday – all types of cycling and walking are available, as well as nearby swimming pools or outdoor swimming, National Trust at Gibson Mill and climbing at Rokt in nearby Brighouse.

The house can be booked for residential trainings, research meetings, craft sessions, and we welcome artists wanting to run their own residential courses, please come and have a cup of tea with us, and discuss your ideas!

Details

Mayroyd Mill House is a spacious 4 bedroom house, with 2 bathrooms, 2 sitting rooms and large kitchen with an Aga. There is dining space in the kitchen and one of the sitting rooms.

Sitting rooms include one with a wood burning stove and TV, and another with quiet space, books and games are available for quiet times. There is a double sofa bed in one of the sitting rooms.

The bedrooms and bathrooms are over two floors.

Bedroom 3 – Two single beds with sink in the room.

Bathroom with bath, shower, sink and toilet.

Steps down from the car park lead to a large garden. You can sit outside, sketch the foliage and trees, and relax watching the river.
