John Taylor, 1639 In this family friendly exhibition we will be discovering the darker side of the history of Halifax and learning more about the inventions and laws that made all our lives better. Come join us as we take you on a journey through the historic streets of Halifax. We’ll be visiting the apothecaries to cure our ailments, finding out how we can save our teeth and considering all the ways a crime was punished, including the infamous Halifax gibbet! Join us for a Horrible Halifax Family Open Day on Saturday 17th February. Discover handling objects linked to Horrible Halifax and create your own replica coin as the Cragg Vale Coiners did. Join in storytelling sessions about an attempted murder and Victorian school life. Try out out new children's trail exploring Bankfield Museum. All activities are free and run throughout the day.
