Hob Hey Hideaways is a pop-up site with panoramic views in an area of natural beauty, the pretty West Yorkshire village of Norland. The site is about a mile outside Sowerby Bridge and close to the Historic Calder Valley, Cragg Vale and Grade I listed Piece Hall, with its unique boutique shops and bustling bars, in the nearby town of Halifax.

This is a ‘Glamorous Glawning’ Bell tent, with comfortable beds and bohemian furnishings, complimentary tea and coffee facilities and a bottle of bubbly in your welcome pack. On site you will have access to fresh water and portaloos, along with a kitchen cabin that houses a fridge, a freezer for ice packs, and a washing-up area, and a microwave.

The friendly owner is available on site daily, to offer advice and you could also preorder an Afternoon Cream Tea, for that special occasion and pre order your breakfast bundle from the local farm shop at extra costs. There are no electric hook-ups on site but phone charging can easily be provided on request.

This is a site that’s particularly well suited to those wanting to escape and have an exclusive retreat away from everything. Simply turn up, settle in and relax. A short hill walk and you can wander lovely moorland and it’s close to several routes used on the Tour de Yorkshire cycle event. In the village there is a small children’s park. If you’re not up for leg-busting long-distance bike rides, you’ll no doubt be pleased to hear that you can instead elect to stroll to one of the local pubs.

Barbecues are allowed on site here, so bring one along if you’re up for a bit of outdoor cooking – there’s a farm shop a couple of miles away where you can buy locally-sourced produce for your grill. Sowerby Bridge has indpendent shops and supermarkets for any other bits you may need and some fantastic restaurants and bars.
