Creativity is in our DNA in Calderdale! You don’t have to look far to find your next creative pursuit to pursue… we’ve got arts workshops, courses, artists’ open studios, exhibitions and much more, creating a hive of artistic activity across the valley! Here’s a just a few to get you started…

Curioddity workshops in Elland – more than just a unique gift shop, this space in Elland has upcoming workshops that include ‘Learn to Sew’ (Saturday 16th Nov), their Alcohol Ink workshop (Saturday 23rd November) and Christmas Flower Arranging and Needle Felting in December.

The Arts Charity at Dean Clough, Halifax – check out the ACDC Art School which includes life drawing, embroidery, and therapeutic art workshops in a beautiful open workspace. Don’t forget to check the various artist exhibitions within Dean Clough, including The Iron Man by Chris Mould, and ‘Scenes from Life’ by Malcolm Barton and Roger Gardner.

Everybody Arts in Halifax – visit the Everybody Gallery to enjoy an inspiring programme of exhibitions and events that reflect and engage the diverse communities they work alongside. Upcoming workshops include mosaic wreaths, festive ceramics, collaging and printmaking!

The Making Mill at Hebden Bridge – a relaxed and friendly creative studio space in the heart of Hebden Bridge. Take a journey back in time to enjoy workshops such as Peg Loom Weaving, plus learning how to spin on a spinning wheel at Drop Spindle and Spinning Wheel workshops!

Todmorden Makery – a volunteer-run community workshop space at the Todmorden Community College. Volunteers there can help you to repair things or help you get started on whole new projects. Look out for their Upholstery & Textiles Drop in, Clothes repair and Woodworking workshops!

Creative with Nature in Todmorden – a fabulous hands-on learning experience with upcoming courses include willow basket making, Christmas wreath workshops and even a Reindeer Sculpture course!
