Meet at Withins Clough car park for a gentle walk around the reservoir, where we’ll gather information and material about the surrounding landscape using observation, field notes and photos. We’ll also read some poems to inspire us.
Afterwards, at a follow-up writing workshop at St Johns in the Wilderness (Cragg Vale) additional materials and writing exercises will help us to produce poems and phrases using invented and local language. There will be the opportunity to contribute words towards a ‘Calderdale Peat Glossary’. Refreshments provided.

This is part of the “PeatZine // Moorlands Stories along the Calderdale Way” project, which will create a zine for the Todmorden-Cragg Vale section of The Calderdale Way, involving local stories, artwork, sound and writing. We would like writing created in this workshop to be included in the zine.
Tickets are free of cost as they are funded via Culturedale. If you can no longer attend the event please let us know as soon as possible so we can allocate your ticket to someone else, thank you.
