2pm – 8pm
Something different for a Sunday! we are proud to host the third annual special afternoon which celebrates the Vic Lounge, an important part of the cultural and musical history of our town.
The famous ‘Victory Lounge’ pub or as it was known back in the 60’s ‘The Vic Lounge’ which was situated on Silver Street and backed onto Black Swan Passage and what is now a restructured Yates Bar. The pub without any shadow of doubt was the epicentre of the epitome of meeting places for the 60’s’ In-Crowd’ scene where the onus was to be seen looking ‘sharp’ and hitting the note .
The Vic Lounge tribute, therefore, of this 1960’s Halifax landmark of meeting places welcomes everyone back to re-ignite the flame in celebrating what was an amazing melting-pot in Halifax town centre. Come along to the reunion and meet all your old acquaintances, contacts, friends, dudes, hipsters, hanger-ons and drop-outs on what is guaranteed to be one amazing get-together.
All the brilliant ‘Vic’ juke-box records will be played on the day from original 45 rpm vinyl by the Plebs revival DJ Fran O’Brien.
