Up North, Down South – Presented by Creative Minds
Event description
6.15pm – 10pm
Supported by Creative Minds (a charity hosted by South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust) – BUFF Film Festival will screen 2 short films with an emphasis on mental health, followed by a short discussion about the issues raised.
Selected titles include:
‘Lavender’ (UK, 27 mins) – an emotional drama short film that delves into the memories of a person living with dementia, built around an interpretation of some of the difficulties they may face (directed by Andrew Ball-Shaw).
‘Taxi’ (UK, 24 mins) is a gentle, funny and touching insight into the lives of a group of people we often take for granted (directed by Geoff Brokate).
This will be followed by the headline feature film Absolutely Marvellous (directed by Emmanuel Anyiam-Osigwe), a fly-on-the-wall boxing documentary which centres around a visually impaired mother and her day-to-day life.

How Much: £5.00 each, 2 for 1 or free for people who use South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust services, carers, unemployed and local (Halifax) residents.
