This event is part of the Calderdale Festival of Food – two weeks of eating and exploring in Calderdale, from the 7th – 20th September.
Set within a carefully curated, sacred space, The Taste of Rebellion invites you to slow down, be fully present and gather in community around one of the world’s most loved foods. This is a space of intention, wellbeing and meaningful connection, where every element has been thoughtfully designed to awaken your senses and deepen your relationship with chocolate.
Unlike traditional tastings that focus only on flavour notes, this conscious chocolate experience pairs exceptional 100% single-origin artisan chocolate and kokoo from Ghana with the human stories behind every bite.
Through guided tasting, storytelling and shared reflection, you’ll journey from cultivation to consumption, discovering the places, species and faces that make chocolate possible.
Together, we’ll explore how flavour can reveal far more than sweetness. We’ll discover the undertones of history, the complexity of injustice, the richness of resilience and the possibility of repair.
