Halifax Gilbert & Sullivan Society present THE MIKADO – Star-crossed lovers, institutional corruption and an unlikely tyrant all come together in an imaginary Japanese setting; leading to a series of thwarted advances, misunderstandings and desperate cover-ups, all set to some of Sullivan’s most memorable music.
Songs like “A Wandering Minstrel”, “Three Little Maids from School”, and “The Sun Whose Rays” have made The Mikado a perennial favourite.
