The Let’s Grow Ho, Ho, Ho! Merry Little Christmas Party

On Monday 20th and Tuesday 21st December 2021 11am-4pm, Halifax’s stunning market hall will welcome back the charming family of baby fruits and vegetables, their friendly ‘Vegetable Nannies’ and a host of performances, games, crafts, festive tunes, prizes and more in this FREE event!

Dance along as the Disco Shed plays funky festive tunes with games, bubbles and cheeky elves a-plenty. Snap a selfie with the Living Lamp Posts and Christmas Travelers, Hodman & Sally. Get creative with reindeer costume making and arts & crafts, then complete the Christmas market treasure trail for a chance to win a family annual pass to Eureka!

The Let’s Grow Nannies

When: 11am – 4pm. Where: The Albany Arcade, Halifax Borough Market

The Let’s Grow Nannies love to celebrate Christmas. From festive costumes for the fruit and vegetable babies, to miniature Christmas light switch-ons inside their vintage Prams, the Nannies have got Christmas covered. They’re delighted to welcome you all to their Merry Little Christmas Party!

Hodman & Sally

When: 11:30am -12pm / 1:15pm – 1:45pm / 2:45pm – 3:15pm. Where: Russel Street and Southgate, Halifax

Meet the magical characters, Hodman and Sally as they amble merrily through the crowds bringing festive laughter and joy wherever they go. Join them & enjoy their hilarious attempts at Christmas shopping and carol singing, although ‘singing’ might not be quite the right word!

The Living Lamp Posts

When: 10:45am – 11:15am / 12:15pm – 12:45pm / 2pm – 2:30pm. Where: Russel Street and Southgate, Halifax

Introducing The Living Lamp Posts! Standing at over ten feet tall these noble and elegant Lamp Posts will shine a new light on you. They’ll light-up your face and fill everyone with joy. Need a light? They can help with that! Trouble seeing in the dark? Let them be your guide! The Living Lamp Posts are a marvellous moving display of ornate light and colour.

Merry Little Christmas Party Activities

When: 11am – 4pm. Where: The Albany Arcade, Halifax Borough Market Christmas Party Check-in

Check in with your details at the Let’s Grow arrivals desk to pick up your free gift bag and collect a market treasure trail map. Have fun at the party, then come back and decorate your bag with ribbons and a personalised tag with your name or for a loved one. Collect a prize sticker and write down and post your Christmas wishes for Calderdale in Santa’s post box.

Christmas Treasure Trail – Some Christmas elf doors have appeared in the market and the Let’s Grow fruit and vegetable babies have gone to find them. Pick up a market treasure trail map from the Party Check-in and explore the market to find all the secret elf doors that the babies have found. There are 12 elf doors to find. Good luck!

At the Reindeer Food Bar, families can create their own reindeer food by following a special recipe. Our friendly Reindeer Food Chefs will help you scoop, mix and pour a unique ‘wildlife friendly’ blend, ready to take home and sprinkle outside on Christmas Eve to feed Santa’s hardworking reindeer. All of Father Christmas’s reindeer should have full tummies when they’re working hard delivering presents around Calderdale!

Reindeer Costume Making – Make a stylish reindeer headdress to wear at the Merry Little Christmas Party. Create your own design and invent a catchy name!

The Festive Fixer-uppers are at the ready to add some Christmas ‘sparkle’ to your day. Accessorize with festive bits and bobs and even add a sparkly red nose to your outfit!

Christmas Party Throne – Strike a pose and snap a Christmas selfie on the Christmas Party Throne!

Disco Shed will be playing funky festive tunes through-out the party. Enjoy the vibe and watch out for some cheeky Christmas Elves!

Chill Out Zone –  the Disco Shed’s festive tunes and cartoon visuals from the Christmas Party Chill Out Zone. Play some games, relax on the comfy cushions, do some Elf portraits and have fun with bubbles!
