Sunken Lands: From flood myths to reality

What happens when you view ancient flood myths through the eyes of someone – a person, a city, an island, a country – who is experiencing climate change?
Gareth E Rees, author of ‘Unofficial Britain’, ‘Marshland’ and other books, including his latest, ‘Sunken Lands’, travelled to susceptible territories and see the old stories in new light. An entertaining speaker, Gareth appeared at last year’s Dreaming Valleys day of ‘deep topography’ in Hebden Bridge.
Doors open at Hebden Bridge Library, HX7 8EP, at 4.30 on Saturday June 15th, for 5pm start. Gareth’s new book will be available, with ticket price redeemable against purchase. Organised by Dreaming Valleys and Northern Earth magazine.
