Leave the busy day-to-day behind and connect back to the peace of the natural world at our secluded woodland site near the beautiful town of Hebden Bridge. Wander in the wilds to discover a wide range of mushrooms, herbs, plants and trees that offer tasty and nutritious foods, as well as potent medicines.
A big part of what excites us about foraging is tapping back into ancestral wisdom. As well as plant and fungi identification, we’ll introduce you to core bushcraft skills including an ancient fire lighting technique.
The day includes:
– An introduction to the practice of foraging and its core principles
– Plant, tree, and fungi ID skills.
– Methods of gathering and preparing wild foods.
– Folklore & history.
– Nutritional & medicinal benefits of wild plants and fungi.
– An introduction to core bushcraft skills including an ancient fire lighting technique
– Wild food samples to try along the way
– A cook-up over the campfire.
