Porcus Farm Open Day

Price: £Free
Porcus Farm Open Day

Event description

Take a trip to the stunning Todmorden moors and discover where great local food begins at Porcus Farm’s Open Day.

This event is part of the Calderdale Festival of Food – two weeks of eating and exploring in Calderdale, from the 7th – 20th September. Discover more about the festival here.

Porcus is much more than a farm shop. Based high above Todmorden, they rear their own rare-breed pigs using free-range, high-welfare and regenerative farming methods, producing award-winning sausages, charcuterie and pork products with a genuine commitment to provenance and sustainability. Their philosophy is simple: real food, made by real people, with care for animals, the environment and the local food chain.

During the Open Day, visitors can enjoy guided farm tours, taste delicious Porcus products, browse the farm shop, and relax with light refreshments and snacks. It’s a rare opportunity to see a working regenerative farm in action, learn how food is produced, ask questions about the future of farming, and meet the people behind one of Calderdale’s most respected food producers.

Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Pennines, a trip to Porcus Farm is the perfect excuse to make a day of it. After your visit, explore Todmorden’s independent shops, cafés and markets, take a walk on the surrounding moorland trails, or simply soak up the character of one of Yorkshire’s most distinctive market towns.
