Poison and Gunpowder Treason: From West Yorkshire to Parliament’s Cellars
The story of a strange Yorkshire poisoning in 1532, and how the victim’s grandson later employed Yorkshireman Guy Fawkes at Westminster. The Plot of 1605 is revealed as it developed, from planning, tunneling, renting a cellar, and ferrying gunpowder across the Thames. But Parliament’s opening kept being delayed, then someone sent an anonymous letter threatening exposure. What were the consequences?
