Paternalism in mid-19th Century Halifax – A talk by Chris Toole

Doors 7pm. Start: 7.30pm

The May talk in the series of Calderdale Industrial Museum Association talks will be given by Chris Toole. He will examining paternalism in mid 19th century Halifax and the impact of the Akroyd and Crossley families on the town.

All are welcome. Free entry to members of Calderdale Industrial Museum Association, £4 to visitors. Tea/coffee/biscuits will be available for a small donation.

 

Calderdale Industrial Museum is Open Saturdays 10am – 4pm and also Thursdays in the School Holidays

Entrance fee: £5 per adult. Concessions £4. accompanied children enter free. We also offer an Annual Pass for £12 per adult that gives unlimited admission to the museum for 12 months.

Accessibility Information;

  • Access is to the side of the Museum via our newly-installed ramp and stairs.
  • Internally there are stairs and a lift to all floors.
  • Disabled Parking is available by prior request.
