1pm – 3pm
Join watercolour artist Jane Austin in the Bankfield Museum gallery for a free demonstration of the watercolour techniques she applies to painting floral images. Background colour and tones are built with transparent layers of random marks, alternating from the warm and cool side of the colour wheel. Form appears out of the confusion, using the initial drawing by taking note of negative spaces, painting positive shapes or lifting out of dry colour to give soft highlights.
Jane will be leading a practical one-day workshop using this technique at Bankfield Museum on Saturday 17th February, booking essential.
