Overgate Hospice Open Gardens

Open Gardens is back and Overgate Hospice are very excited to welcome you to this collection of lovely gardens. Enjoy some of Calderdale’s best gardens and at the same time, help raise vital funds for Overgate Hospice.

Saturday 14th May: Cliffe Hill

Stoney Lane, Lightcliffe, HX3 8TL

12pm – 4pm

£2 Admission

Explore the beautiful lawned area and sit in the grounds of the home of Ann Walker. Built in 1790 the home is where she spent her final days. Used as a film location for Gentleman Jack.

NB Please note that Lightcliffe Tower will be open for visitors to view the memorials hung inside on Saturday 14th May 2022 noon to 4pm (to coincide with the nearby gardens of Cliffe Hill mansion being open to the public – Admisssion £2) and on Sunday 15th May 2pm to 4 pm. Come and see the restored Ann Walker memorial as well as those to her parents, siblings including her brother John Walker who died on honeymoon in Naples, her young nephews George Sackville Sutherland and John Walker Sutherland and her niece ‘Little Mary’ Sutherland. No charge for this although a small donation would be most welcome.
