DESCRIPTION:11am\, 1.30pm and 4pm in the Copper Auditorium \nTickets from £5 \nFollowing in the long tradition of New Year concerts given by the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra\, Orchestra of Square Chapel present waltzes\, polkas and marches from the Strauss family and their contemporaries. Featuring arias from soprano Kathy Macaulay and conducted by Katherine Stonham. \nThe perfect way to start your New Year! \nAbout our soloist Kathy Macaulay:\nKathy is a Welsh soprano\, who made her professional opera debut in 2021 at Buxton International Festival as the lead role in Jonathan Dove’s ‘The Enchanted Pig’. In 2022\, she made her Welsh National Opera debut in Shostakovich’s Cherry Town as part of the Young Company where she was covering the role of Lucy. She recently graduated from the University of Manchester with a First-Class Honours degree where she studied voice with Catherine Mikic and received the Procter-Gregg Prize for best third-year recital. Previously\, Kathy studied voice\, violin\, and French horn as part of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama’s Junior advanced course.
