Dates- 15th April, 20th May, 17th June, 15th July, 19th August and 16th September 2023 4pm-6pm
Join us for nature journaling and art workshops in the woods! We will come together in meditation to connect with the nature around us before exploring various arts and crafts.
These workshops are suitable for all adults regardless of age and experience, the focus is on immersion in the process and escapism, not on skill or technique although you will learn lots along the way. The workshops will run on the third Saturday of every month from 4-6pm. It’s entirely up to you if you’d like to come once, occasionally or regularly. Nature journaling will be at the heart of the workshops and over time we will also explore textile arts, paper and felt and making thinks using flowers and plants.
These workshops will be led by Jessica Aldred from House of Heyday (www.houseofheyday.co.uk). Jessica is a professionally trained designer and embroiderer who has spent her career helping people through the arts. She believes in the magic of nature and the power of creativity to support wellbeing, mental health, peace, learning and growth.
You are welcome to bring your own materials with you or purchase a nature journaling starter pack for an additional £20 which will include an A5 sketchbook, paint brush, watercolour paints, a mechanical pencil and a black fine-liner pen.
Hot and cold drinks will be available at all times. There is a very basic compost toilet in a shed.
We will be outside in private woods for the whole time. There are some structures for shelter and we will have a fire on for warmth. Please dress for the weather. Layers will be useful.
The event will go ahead in all weathers unless we have extreme weather such as high winds.
