SUMMARY:Midgley Village Fete
DESCRIPTION:A traditional village fete\, featuring a full programme of fun and entertainment for everyone to enjoy. \nThe fete gets underway on Midgley Recreation Ground at 1.00pm on Saturday 10 June\, with Maypole dancing by Midgley school children\, and continues with welly wanging\, children’s races\, tug of war\, straw races\, dog competitions and Midgley’s famously chaotic terrier races. \nPlenty of traditional stalls and games will provide fun for all ages\, and there will be a range of food stalls as well as plants and local crafts. \nHebden Bridge Junior brass band will play throughout the afternoon\, and local band Owter Zeds will continue the party atmosphere into the evening. \nThe beer tent will serve real Yorkshire ale all day\, whilst the tea tent will offer a chance for a quiet sit down with delicious home make cakes. \nFell runners are welcome to join the Churn Milk Chase Fell race\, starting and finishing in the fete arena and taking in a circuit of Midgley Moor. \nMidgley Recreation ground is situated on Green Lane\, off Solomon Hill\, Midgley. Blue badge holders can park at the Rec\, we ask other drivers to park at Midgley school or in the village.
