Starting with the days when goods were sold outdoors in Old Market, David moves on to speak about Halifax’s Borough Market of 1896 – thankfully still with us. Then we look at some of the well-known shops which have long departed from our local streets – you may remember Modelle, Hind’s and Fred Wade? But further back in time, there were Lipton’s Grocery, Driver’s Market, Simpson’s of Silver Street and Alexander Scott’s Drapery. Lots of nostalgic photos!
