This year’s Yorkshire Integration Festival takes place at The Piece Hall in Halifax on Saturday 21 September 2024. Organised by Migration Yorkshire, this family-friendly event will celebrate the integration of refugees, and all our communities in Yorkshire and Humber, through music, food, performances, and other activities.
This year the Yorkshire Integration Festival will be joined by a very special guest!
Little Amal, a 12-foot puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee and a global symbol of human rights, is taking a symbolic journey through Halifax town centre as part of the festival, in collaboration with CultureDale and Handmade Productions. Little Amal will experience the best of our welcoming, resilient community, with the procession beginning at Halifax Town Hall at 11am and proceeding down to join the rest of the Festival at The Piece Hall by midday. Other activities will also be happening in Northgate Courtyard from 9am.
In the Piece Hall, there will also be a:
• Main stage – a programme of performers and artists from a diverse range of communities, including Punjabi Roots, Mambo Jamboree and the Otley Brass Band.
• Global Village – where people can find out more about the diverse cultures and communities in our region, through a variety of traditional activities, including stalls that showcase artefacts, clothing and literature.
• Kids activities – children of all ages can get involved with a wide range of activities, including dance, crafts, and face painting.
