Learn the art of goldwork embroidery in this one-day workshop taught by Royal School of Needlework trained embroiderer Jessica Aldred. Goldwork is an umbrella term for all metal thread embroidery techniques which throughout history have been used to adorn ecclesiastical embroideries and royal robes. Create your own adorable ‘Neil the Snail’ and learn how to do felt padding, couching and cutwork.
This class is suitable for beginners and those who are new to goldwork. The class fee includes all of the materials- comprehensive written instructions, threads, needles and fabric. You will need to bring your own ring frame, scissors, notepad and pencil and magnifier if you need one. Ring frames and scissors will also be available to borrow.
