Event description

Wainsgate refuses to stay quiet. Perched on a Pennine hilltop, Wainsgate is part sanctuary, part playground, part creative engine.

We make space for bold ideas, remarkable artists and unexpected encounters. Whether you come for an performance, a concert, a workshop or simply a cup of tea, this is a place where heritage and imagination meet, and where you might just leave with a different way of seeing the world.

We are celebrating HARVEST at Wainsgate with a day focused on food and other activities. There will be the Wainsgate cafe bar selling hot and cold drinks; a mini beer festival; hot seasonal food; cakes; stalls from local producers and those who are a bit further a field.

There will be workshops to get involved with; corn doll making, pickling workshop, printing workshop and a guided harvest and heritage walk.

HARVEST at Wainsgate: Matthew Bourne & Emily Levy – Mercury Songs. Performer-composers Emily Levy and Matthew Bourne present a new work that recasts British folk traditions for today.
