Visit Artworks and explore the Everybody Gallery and artist studios, all set in the Grade II listed Shaw Lodge textile mill in Halifax.

Take the opportunity to visit the unique venue, a Grade II listed textile mill on the outskirts of Halifax town centre, and find out more about Artworks and The Everybody Gallery. You can view our exhibitions and visit our artist studios, where 20 local artists and creative practitioners make their work. The building is beautiful, spacious, full of history and bursting with creativity.
Artworks is ‘The Everybody School of Art’, a place where the opportunity to experience the benefits of art and understand its value is available to all, regardless of age, ability, background, or circumstance.

Artworks champion art and creativity in everyday life and think that opportunity and engagement with art can make things better for everyone. Their time, space and resources are dedicated to supporting artistic development and community imagination. As such, are home to a thriving creative community where everyone is welcome.

Our ground floor art school and 1st floor gallery space have level access and are wheelchair accessible. Unfortunately our studio spaces are not wheelchair accessible at this time.

Artworks is 10 minutes walk from Halifax Railway Station, and a 20 minute walk from Halifax Bus Station. The closest bus stops are on ‘Shaw Hill Simmonds
Lane’ & ‘Shaw Hill Gaukroger‘. There is a large free car park nearby and disabled parking outside our entrance.
