Combine the art of goldwork and silk shading in this one-day workshop taught by Royal School of Needlework trained embroiderer Jessica Aldred. Goldwork is one of the most luxurious forms of embroidery and silk shading is also known as ‘painting with a needle’. These two complimentary techniques are brought together in this ‘Blue Mosaic’ design which was inspired by a mosaic in the Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi.
This class is suitable for those with some experience of hand embroidery. The class fee includes all of the materials- comprehensive written instructions, threads, needles and fabric. You will need to bring your own ring frame, scissors, notepad and pencil and magnifier if you need one. Ring frames and scissors will also be available to borrow.
