DESCRIPTION:This event is part of the Calderdale Festival of Food – two weeks of eating and exploring in Calderdale\, from the 7th – 20th September. Discover more about the festival here. \nLive Wild’s popular foraging and fungi courses in Hebden Bridge\, West Yorkshire have been running for almost a decade. They focus on getting to know the land and its wild food in a deep\, immersive way that makes it easy to continue learning\, gathering and cooking at home. \nChoose from either an immersive Foraging & Fungi Day Course including a cook up over the campfire\, or a 90 minute Foraging Taster Session. \nJoin Live Wild foraging expert\, Leonie\, for a fun and informative foray into the practice of foraging. Your Taster Session includes: \n\nA general introduction to foraging\, including how to forage safely and within the law\nAn understanding of the season\, and what wild edibles to look for\n How to confidently identify a range of common edibles\nTips on how to sustainably harvest and process wild foods\nA selection of seasonal wild food tasters\, pre-prepared by Leonie\n\n*Suitable for adults and young people age 12+ (all persons under 18 must be accompanied by an adult) \n\nYour tutor:\nLeonie is one of Live Wild’s founders and directors\, and works with people of all ages to encourage confidence\, competence and a sense of belonging in the outdoors. She is a qualified Bushcraft Instructor & Wild Food Teacher\, with many years of experience teaching a range of programmes\, including regular seasonal foraging courses in locations across the north of England.
