Theatre’s on the menu at Holdsworth House with an exclusive supper and evening preview performance of a new play by renowned Anne Lister researcher Helena Whitbread (based on her book No Priest But Love), adapted by local writer and historian, Angela Clare. In the shadowed world of candlelit Shibden Hall, desire burns and secrets unravel. Set in the 1820s, No Priest But Love is a haunting drama of a love that dare not speak its name.
In the beautiful setting of historic Holdsworth House in Halifax, you will be treated to a delicious two-course dinner. The play will then be performed script-in-hand by three actors, and followed by a discussion with the writers (Helena Whitbread and Angela Clare), director and cast.
The evening commences with a delicious set menu two-course supper. Please provide any dietary requirements and allergy notices when booking your ticket.

The play commences 7.00pm – 8.15pm
A break for drinks is followed by a discussion with the writers (Helena Whitbread and Angela Clare), director and cast.
Estimated finish time 9pm.
