Based on the iconic story, this spectacular stage show follows the devilishly delicious tale of young golden ticket winner Charlie Bucket and the mysterious confectionary wizard Willy Wonka.
When Charlie finds one of the five golden tickets to the Wonka Chocolate Factory, accompanied by his grandpa Joe, he and the other winners can’t wait to feast on the sweets of their dreams. But beyond the gates, they discover more than just remarkable edible delights. Embarking on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka’s army of curious Oompa-Loompas, they soon learn that nobody leaves the same way that they arrived…
This spectacular stage show follows the hit West End and Broadway productions to combine the memorable songs from the original 1970’s motion picture (“Candy Man,” “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket,” “Oompa Loompa Song,” “Pure Imagination” and more) with all new numbers from the multi award-winning songwriters of “Hairspray.”

HAOS Productions are a local charity dedicated to bringing high quality shows to the people of Halifax. Since 1901 they have produced over 160 amateur productions across Calderdale and their performances have been seasonally featured at our most iconic venues including the Victoria Theatre Halifax. Between their Junior and Senior groups, they provide musical theatre training and the opportunity to perform for local residents from the age of eight upwards.
Featuring local talented performers and musicians, the group that brought to the Victoria Theatre such memorable productions as Grease, Calendar Girls, Kinky Boots, Shrek, Hairspray, Ghost, Beauty & the Beast, Chess, Titanic and many more, will embrace that magic all over again and is set to wow audiences new and old.

Wheelchair access
Following recent improvements to the stalls seating area, we now offer easier access and better viewing locations for wheelchair users. So you can be assured of a comfortable and enjoyable experience, we have level access to the stalls from Commercial Street and provide two accessible toilets on the stalls level.
Hearing Impaired
The Victoria Theatre has an induction loop for hearing aid users in the auditorium and Box Office.
Additionally the Victoria Theatre now offers an infra-red audio system allowing customers in the Stalls and The Circle and to individually adjust the volume of the performance.
Visual Impairments
We now offer versions of our seasonal brochure in large print. Please contact the box office to request copies to be sent to you.
Guide dogs are welcome and we will be pleased to provide a bowl of water on request.
