Antonín Dvořák’s Piano Quintet
Price:
£11
Event description
Join us for a very special concert featuring principal musicians from the Orchestra of Opera North, with Head of Music David Cowan at the piano.
At the heart of the programme is Antonín Dvořák’s Piano Quintet in A major, which interweaves themes from Czeck folk songs and dances with the composer’s trademark lyricism. Hungarian folk themes are conjured in Haydn’s Piano Trio, which completes this delightful springtime concert.
“Written amid the wooded countryside at Dvořák’s summer house to the south west of Prague, the A major Piano Quintet open-hearted masterpiece is both joyful and poignant” – BBC Radio 3
When: Sunday 17th May, 15:00 – 16:15
Where: Crossley Gallery, D Mill
